You reverse your colors for the month in which you celebrate your birthday, the month of your Chapter’s birthday and the month of the Red Hat Society’s birthday which is April.  So, three months of the year you wear red cloths and a purple hat!  The Pinkies wear pink cloths and mauve hats!
